If you just want to pop out for a coffee before coming back for a dip in the hot tub, only 5 minutes drive away is the Gardeners’ Retreat tea room at the family run Scothern Nurseries where they serve lovely homemade cakes. Or if you have been exploring the Bailgate area around the Cathedral you will find plenty of places to choose from or make your way down Steep Hill where you will find Bunty’s Tea Room about half way down. A vintage tea room serving delicious homemade cakes with a gluten free selection.

Or pop into Cafe Gelato, located on The Strait, serving coffee with a choice of handmade cake or artisan gelato. 

If you are shopping in the High Street and want to take a break, then you can’t miss the beautiful Tudor building on the bridge over the River Witham, Stokes’ High Bridge Cafe. Take a seat in the higgledy piggledy collection of rooms and watch the swans swimming on the Witham as you sample the teas, coffees and cakes on offer.
